📚 Get Ready for World Book Day!
We are buzzing with excitement for World Book Day on Thursday, 6th March! It’s going to be a fantastic week dedicated to the joy of reading. Here is everything you need to know to get involved:
📖 The Big Readathon (All Week)
To celebrate our love of stories, we are running a school-wide Readathon all week long.
-
What to bring: Please ensure your child brings their favorite book (or a new one they are dying to start!) from home every day.
-
The Goal: We’ll be carving out extra time during the day to get lost in our books and reach our reading milestones together.
🎭 Dress-Up Thursday
Thursday is the big day! Children are invited to come to school dressed as:
-
A favourite book character: From Harry Potter to Matilda, we can’t wait to see who shows up!
-
Comfy Clothes: If dressing as a character isn't their thing, children are more than welcome to wear their favourite cozy "reading clothes" (think joggers and sweatshirts) for a relaxed day of storytelling.
🥔 The Great Potato Challenge
We are asking all our pupils to get creative at home! Your mission: Transform an ordinary potato into a fantastic miniature model of a book character.
-
Whether it’s a "Spud-er-Man," a "Potato Head" Paddington or a "Tater" Tracy Beaker, we want to see your imagination run wild.
-
Please bring your potato creations into school on Thursday to be displayed.
We can't wait to see the school transformed into a world of stories! Thank you for your continued support in encouraging a lifelong love of reading.
