🌿 Green Flag Success at Oxford Island! 🌿

2nd Jun 2026
Some of our Eco Club members had a very special trip to the Oxford Island Discovery Centre today, where they proudly received our Eco‑Schools Green Flag Award. This award is a major achievement for schools in Northern Ireland and is recognised internationally as a symbol of outstanding environmental work.

The Eco‑Schools Green Flag is awarded to schools that show real commitment to sustainability—through pupil‑led projects, environmental action, and making positive changes both in school and in the wider community. It is the highest level of Eco‑Schools recognition and must be earned through two years of hard work and dedication.

We are absolutely delighted to have achieved this honour. Our pupils have worked tirelessly on recycling, active travel, biodiversity, energy saving, and caring for our school grounds and our Eco Club members represent our school brilliantly.

Well done to our Eco Club—your enthusiasm and leadership continue to make our school greener, cleaner, and a place to be proud of! 💚🌍

As we look ahead, we warmly invite our parents, families, and wider community to continue supporting us as we develop our outdoor areas and work towards becoming even more sustainable in the years to come. Together, we can build on this success and create an environment that inspires learning, wellbeing, and pride for every child.
