🎂 Important Reminder: Keeping Our School Community Safe

19th May 2026

Parents and Guardians, At our school, the safety and well-being of our students is always our top priority. We are writing to share an important reminder regarding food items brought into school from home.   We love celebrating milestones and birthdays with our students, but we currently have a large number of children across various year groups with severe allergies (including nuts, dairy, eggs, kiwi and gluten). Even a tiny amount of accidental exposure or cross-contamination can cause a serious medical emergency.   Please Note: Sweet treats, cakes, buns, cupcakes and other baked goods are not permitted to be brought into school to share with classrooms or friends.   While we know this comes from a place of kindness and celebration, tracking ingredients for homemade or store-bought treats in a large school environment is incredibly difficult.

🌟 Alternative Ways to Celebrate If your child wants to celebrate their birthday or a special occasion with their classmates, we highly encourage non-food alternatives! Some great options include:

📚 Bringing in a favourite book for the teacher to read to the class.

🎯 Donating a board game or puzzle to the classroom for rainy-day break.

✏️ Small non-food items like fun pencils, stickers or bookmarks.

We want to ensure every child feels safe, included and protected while they learn. We greatly appreciate your understanding, cooperation and partnership in keeping our school environment safe for everyone.

Thank you for your continued support!
