🚦 Stay Bright, Stay Right: Road Safety at Our School
As the mornings and afternoons remain busy around our school gates, we want to remind all our pupils about the importance of Road Safety. Whether you are walking, cycling or scooting to school, staying alert is the best way to stay safe!
🛑 The Green Cross Code
Whenever you need to cross the road, remember these four golden rules:
-
THINK: Find the safest place to cross (like a zebra crossing or with our crossing patrol) and stop.
-
LOOK: Look all around for traffic and listen. Look right, left, and right again.
-
WAIT: If traffic is coming, let it pass. Do not cross until there is a safe gap or all cars have stopped.
-
ARRIVE: When it is safe, walk straight across the road. Keep looking and listening while you cross.
💡 Top Tips for Our Pupils
-
Be Bright, Be Seen: Wear reflective gear or bright colors, especially on gloomy or rainy days.
-
Heads Up, Devices Down: Please keep hoodies down and phones in pockets when crossing. You need your full concentration to hear and see what’s happening around you.
-
Park Safely: If you are being dropped off by car, please remind your adults to park away from the yellow zig-zag lines to keep the view clear for everyone else.
Challenge for the week: Can you spot all the different road signs on your way to school tomorrow?
Let’s work together to keep our school community safe. Stop, Look, Listen, and Think!
