Accelerated Reading Winners

18th May 2020

Congratulations to this week’s highest point winners. A lot of books were read to gain that amount of points so well done to you all.

1. Noe Oh Again Fontes RNI – 68.8 points

2. Macha Ni Again Fontes RNI – 39.5

3. Bozhidara Dimitrova P6N – 15.7

4. Hannah Chodkowska P4McD – 13.7

5. Orla Mc Atamney P6Q – 12

A massive congratulations to Inion Mhic Iomhair’s class for the most books read. There was a total of 667, 986 words read in a week. Wow!

Next week, we will focus on most words read in a week and post the top 5 winners. In addition to this, in September when we return to school, as part of AR we hope to include in our library, mini book reviews created by you as a guide for other children when choosing AR books. Therefore, I am setting a challenge this week to create a mini book review.

The mini book review should include:

· A6 size – which is a quarter of an A4 page.

· Title and author of the book at the top

· A short summary of the book – A few sentences

· Rating – maybe 1-5/stars or smiley faces to rate the book’s interest level

· Recommendation – What you thought of the book and why?

· Reviewer’s name and date

Please post in photographs of your completed book reviews. There will be a prize for every child who participates. Where possible, create mini reviews for the books you read in the next few weeks and keep them safe so they can be used in the library when we return to school.
