Active Travel with Dave Wiggins 🚴
During his visit, the pupils explored the many ways people travel and shared brilliant ideas about why walking, cycling, or scooting to school is good for everyone.
Dave encouraged all pupils to choose active travel whenever they can. Together, we discovered that travelling actively helps us to:
-
Stay fit and healthy – being active every day helps our bodies grow strong.
-
Protect the environment – walking or cycling instead of driving reduces pollution and helps look after our planet.
-
Spend quality time with friends – it’s a great opportunity to chat and enjoy the journey together.
-
Avoid traffic – it’s often quicker and more relaxing than being stuck in a car park.
-
Save money – families who live within a mile of school can save around £300 a year by walking instead of driving.
The children left feeling inspired to make small, positive changes that can make a big difference — for themselves, their families, and the world around them.
