Continuing our “Bridge to France” topic, children were challenged to explore the strength of the triangle when constructing a TRUSS bridge. They used marshmallows and cocktail sticks to create sections of bridge supports (& may have had a little nibble along the way) - it was tricky to create stability but pupils realised that the “x” shape would create 4 smaller triangles and add strength.
