Green Day

11th Mar 2021

As part of our St Patrick’s Day celebrations in school, we are having a ‘Green Day’ on Tuesday 16th March. On this day, we aim to promote our school’s ‘Green message’ by planning some eco-friendly activities as well as traditional St Patrick’s Day festivities.

Some of the activities that pupils will be involved in include;

  • Learning how to use body percussion to join in with Irish rhythms
  • Making hanging shamrock decorations with recycled egg cartons
  • Learning some everyday words/phrases in Irish

We ask that pupils bring in an empty egg carton before Tuesday for the shamrock craft activity.

Pupils are encouraged to wear something green for our celebrations on Tuesday 16th March. This could be a hair decoration, some shamrock, a t-shirt, jumper or socks.

Our Primary 4-7 pupils are also encouraged to take part in our ‘Green Day’ celebrations from home. Activities will be posted on Google Classroom class pages. We look forward to seeing some photographs of our Primary 4-7 pupils taking part at home.

Thank you once again for your continued support.
