Happy 50th Birthday to Our Schools and Community
Our 50th celebration Mass celebrated by Archbishop Eamon and concelebrated by our parish clergy was such a testament to our wonderfully supportive community. I was so proud to see so many members of our wider school family join us in our parish church for a very special moment in our parish’s life. Our boys and girls were fabulous, many of them awake well past their bedtimes. Maith sibh na paistí. Thank you to our entire school staff who celebrated such a momentous occasion with our community and who prepared the children so well for such a lovely Mass. The liturgy and the music were a joy to be part of. A huge congratulations must go to Mr Madden, Mrs Magee and our choirs. The voices of angels belonged to both our children and our staff last night. Our readers read so very very well and the church was absolutely packed. Thank you to the many generations of our parish families who joined us last night and to representatives of our partner schools, CCMS, our school governors, local government and many past members of staff who were an absolute joy to see. Thank you to our parish clergy and staff who are a very important part of our school family. Thank you to Archbishop Eamon who is a joy to be in the company of, a joy to listen to and someone who has all the time in the world for the children. He must have posed for photographs with the children on the sanctuary steps for an hour after Mass! Lastly, thank you to our next door neighbours in St John the Baptist Nursery School and to Mrs Armstrong who joined us in celebration last night. Both schools are celebrating their 50th birthday this year. Go raibh míle maith agaibh gach duine. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and our school website for lots more photographs.
Happy Birthday!
