Join Our Walking Bus on 27th February!

16th Feb 2026

On the morning of Friday 27th of February we will be having our first school community WALKING BUS to St.John the Baptist Primary, in association with the Walk Wheel Cycle Trust.

The plan is to gather at Judge’s shop at 8.30am before leaving to walk to school together at 8.45am.

For our first walking bus, we would ask parents and guardians to join with us on the walk and retain responsibility for their child until we get to school.

Being active on the journey to school has great benefits for families and the school …

  • Arriving at school with energy ready to learn.
  • Having a healthy body and brain.
  • Reducing congestion in the car park, it may even be faster.
  • Saving money on fuel.
  • Learning new skills.
  • Developing independence.
  • Keeping the air quality around the school as clean as possible.
  • Having fun and socialising together.

Hi vis vests will be given to children to keep. Please wear these on the Walking Bus if you can and on future active travel to school.

We understand that due to location or circumstances that not everyone will be able to participate. If Judge’s Shop is not on your route, why not walk from your home / location, or drive part of the way, park somewhere safe and continue the journey on foot.

We look forward to seeing you then.
