Keeping Our Children Safe: A Reminder About Road Safety and School Drop-offs
As we work together to keep our school community safe, we want to remind everyone about the vital importance of road safety and responsible parking around the school gates, particularly during the busy morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times.
The roads immediately surrounding our school become incredibly congested at the start and end of the school day. To ensure the safety of every child, we kindly ask all parents and carers to adhere to the following guidelines:
-
Use Safe Exits Only: Please ensure your child enters and exits the school grounds through the official pedestrian gates. Children should never be dropped off in the middle of the main road.
-
Park and Stride: If you live a bit further away, please consider parking safely a short distance from the school and walking the final leg of the journey. This dramatically reduces congestion directly outside the school gates.
-
Mind the Footpaths: Please do not park or mount the pavements. Footpaths must be kept completely clear for prams and families walking to school.
-
Expect the Unexpected: Children can be unpredictable and easily distracted. Please drive at a walking pace near the school and remain hyper-vigilant.
Our children’s safety is a shared responsibility. By making small changes to our routines and prioritising safety over convenience, we can ensure that every child arrives at and leaves school safely.
Thank you for your continued cooperation, patience and support in keeping our school environment safe for everyone.
