Mr Guy's Retirement Assembly
Today, we gathered with full hearts and misty eyes to celebrate a truly remarkable man—Mr. Guy—who, after 35 years of dedicated service, is retiring from St John The Baptist Primary School.
For over three decades, Mr. Guy has been more than just a teacher. He has been a mentor, a guide, a role model, and a friend. His classroom was a place of learning, yes—but also of laughter, curiosity, and kindness. He didn’t just teach lessons from textbooks; he taught lessons for life.
Whether it was helping a child find their confidence, supporting a struggling student, or simply greeting everyone with that warm, familiar smile—Mr. Guy gave his all, every single day.
Outside the classroom, we know him as a man of energy and passion. His love for running and golf is well known—perhaps it’s what kept him so youthful all these years! We imagine his retirement will be filled with long morning jogs, peaceful afternoons on the green, and hopefully, a few well-earned naps in between.
Mr. Guy, your presence will be deeply missed. The corridors will feel a little quieter, the staffroom a little emptier, and the school a little less bright without you. But your legacy will live on in the countless lives you’ve touched, the minds you’ve inspired, and the hearts you’ve helped shape.
As you step into this new chapter, we wish you nothing but joy, health, and peace. May your days be filled with the same warmth and happiness you’ve given to so many of us.
Thank you, Mr. Guy—for everything.
Happy retirement.
