October-International Walk to School Month
3rd Oct 2025
October is International Walk to School Month!
Throughout this month, schools across Northern Ireland encourage pupils and families to walk to school as part of a global initiative promoting healthier lifestyles, safer streets, and cleaner air. Walking to school helps children arrive more alert and ready to learn, while also reducing traffic congestion and pollution around school gates. We are taking part in this fun walking challenge to celebrate the benefits of walking. Let’s step up and make a difference—one walk at a time!

Each pupil has been given a simple stamp sheet challenge to fill out every time they walk to/from school. Pupils can also record if they have went on a forest walk or a walk to the park etc.
It is called Diary of a Walking Kid.
