Online Safety Talk for Parents/Guardians

2nd Mar 2026
We are delighted to announce a joint initiative between Ballyoran P.S., St. John the Baptist’s College and Tír na nÓg GAA to host a special Parent Information Evening on helping children to stay safe and thrive in today’s digital world.

We will be welcoming Wayne Denner, a highly respected technology and online safety specialist with over 25 years’ international experience. Wayne works with schools, parents, teachers and organisations across Ireland, the UK, Europe and the Middle East, delivering practical and engaging sessions on how to support young people growing up in a digital age.

About the Parent Session
Wayne’s talk will give parents clear, up to date guidance on:
• Managing children’s online activity and encouraging healthy tech habits
• Understanding current online risks, including exploitation, scams and harmful trends
• How young people are using AI tools (such as ChatGPT and Snapchat My AI)
• Recognising misinformation, deepfakes and online manipulation
• Helping children build a positive online reputation and using technology responsibly
• Simple, practical steps for keeping your child safer online at home and school
Wayne’s sessions are known for being informative, practical and easy to understand, with all guidance rooted in safe, responsible and positive technology use.
