Primary 6 Celebrate Earth Day with Persuasive Writing Power! 🌍

24th Apr 2026
Primary 6L have been working incredibly hard this week as they learned all about Earth Day, an annual global event held on 22nd April to raise awareness about protecting our planet and taking action to care for the environment. Earth Day has been celebrated since 1970 and now involves over a billion people worldwide, all joining together to support environmental protection.

To mark this important day, our pupils explored the impact of single‑use plastics, especially those found in everyday lunch boxes. After learning how plastic waste harms wildlife, pollutes oceans, and contributes to climate change, they set out on a mission:  to persuade their parents and guardians to reduce single‑use plastics at home.

Using a range of persuasive techniques, the children crafted thoughtful, reasoned, and impactful letters.

Their writing was not only persuasive but passionate, informed, and full of hope for a cleaner, greener future.

We are incredibly proud of Primary 6 for using their voices to inspire positive change. Their letters show that our pupils are not only learning about the world — they are ready to protect it.

Well done, P6L! 🌱💚
