STEM investigation ... How did the Vikings get food in winter?

This week we explored how The Vikings preserved their food. 

We put a full apple, a sliced apple and a peeled apple into a container filled with salt. We made predictions about what we think will happen. We will check over the next few weeks to see what has happened to the apple.

After our investigation, we were then asked the question, where did the Vikings get their salt from? We conducted an experiment using salty water. Setting up a fair test, we wanted to investigate if there would be any differences in our results if the water was evaporated quickly or slowly.
